Brizmo turns an iPad into a wireless tether for Canon bodies. Set an exposure pattern your camera's own AEB can't express, fire it as one sequence, and cull the results on site — while you're still standing at the tripod.

01 / WHAT IT DOES

Any EV pattern, not just ±N

Frames, spacing and offset are three separate controls. Five frames, 2 EV apart, offset −2 EV gives you −6 −4 −2 0 +2 — a pattern in-body AEB has no way to express. Brizmo computes every resulting shutter speed before the first frame and marks the ones that fall outside your body's range, so a sequence either shoots clean or doesn't start.

Culling that survives the Wi-Fi

Frames land on the iPad as you shoot. Ratings, picks and edits are written to the iPad first and pushed back to the camera when it is listening — never the other way round. Drop the connection mid-shoot and everything you have already sorted is still on screen, still sortable, still exportable.

A live view worth the screen

Levelling read from the body's own sensor, grid overlays, and a display LUT applied on the iPad — it changes what you see while framing without touching a single byte of what the camera records.

Select on the iPad, then pull the full-resolution RAW files for those frames alone. A whole card's worth of files never has to cross the air just so you can choose six of them.

02 / WHO IT'S FOR

Built for people who work on a tripod.

Architectural and interior work, product shots, anything where the camera stays put and the exposure decisions are the hard part. Brizmo is deliberately narrow: it does not try to be a general-purpose remote, and it does not assume you will be within arm's reach of the body.

03 / REQUIREMENTS

What you need

Camera
A Canon body with CCAPI (Camera Control API) enabled. Developed and tested against the EOS R6 Mark II; other CCAPI bodies are expected to work but have not been verified yet.
iPad
iPadOS 17.0 or later. iPad only — there is no iPhone build.
Network
The camera's own Wi-Fi access point, or both devices on the same network. Nothing leaves that network.
Accounts
None. Brizmo has no sign-up and no server to sign in to.

CCAPI must be enabled on the body by Canon before it will answer at all. On most models that is a one-time activation done through Canon's own site.

04 / STATUS

Where this is right now

Brizmo is in closed testing on TestFlight and is not yet on the App Store. It is built and maintained by one person, alongside working as a photographer — which is also why it only claims what has actually been shot with it.
